Biography

Dr. Jack Chan prides himself as an approachable and caring practitioner that guides his patients to better health. As a former martial arts instructor, personal trainer, and now as a physical therapist, Jack has spent most of life coaching and guiding others for self-improvement. His experience and advanced training has given him the tools to systematically find the cause of injury so he can create customized treatment plans specific to patients’ needs.

Jack’s path to physical therapy originated from his practice of martial arts. Through his training, he recognized that a key aspect of long-lasting physical and mental health was through exercise. After his bachelors of science in Exercise Science, Jack spent several years trying to find a career to bring his vision for movement therapy to society. He spent three years working as a personal trainer in Portland, Oregon, teaching fitness classes and creating unique individualized programs for his clients. After volunteering with various health professionals, he found physical therapy to be a perfect match for his passion.

Jack appreciates the world of physical therapy is constantly evolving, and he loves learning about the newest tools and technology for effective treatment. He is constantly seeking to expand his knowledge of manual techniques and movement facilitation.

Outside of his career, Jack enjoys weightlifting and continuing his martial arts training (with prior in experience in Tang Soo Do, mixed martial arts, and Krav Maga). He also enjoys spending quality time with his friends and family, enjoying the latest movies, and hunting down the tastiest food in the Bay area.
