“Before SOL I was dragging my leg because of pain and instability. I had surgery on my left knee around 1988 and since could not even be touched along my thigh and parts of my knee due to pain. Now I am able to walk shorter distances without my cane; it still gives out, but much fewer than before. The pain is much more mild, and I am able to touch along my thigh and knee without it hurting. I had the fear of surgery before seeing my physical therapist, but now I don’t feel like I would need it.” -L.B.
