This location and the Piedmont location doesn’t answer their phone or call people back after a voicemail is left. They don’t check their email when you request an appointment. I have just finished with physical therapy having reached each of my stated goals.  I don't think you can find a better group of people to work with than the folks here.  I believe I worked with each of them or nearly each of them and they were all very focused, enthusiastic, encouraging and just fantastic to work with.  I highly recommend them! I went to SOL Montclair last year to rehab an ankle that I injured while playing sports.  I worked with Nick and Murphy for about 3 months, and I found both to be wonderful Physical Therapists. They were very knowledgeable, they designed fun and effective exercises, and they made a point to truly understand the injury and my rehab goals and timeline.  9 months after finishing treatment, my ankle still feels strong and stable. Scheduling, communication, and billing with SOL is also top notch. I can't speak highly enough about SOL physical therapy. I've had some leg problems due to some nerve and back issues. I worked mostly with Nick who was a true detective in trying to find the origin and the answer to my issues.  He isolated areas of pain and weakness and prescribed exercises to improve both. After several months I can say that I feel significant improvement. Nick is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to his work. It seems like all the people at SOL are dedicated and talented. Gabe at the front desk was really helpful in scheduling and moving around appointments. I also worked with Raquel who was another very talented physical therapist. I have been really happy with the care and progress that I’ve made at SOL physical therapy. Gabe who works at the front desk is so kind and responsive. I always feel warmly welcomed whenever I arrive for an appointment. My PT, Nick, is the absolute best. He saw me for hip pain while I was pregnant and was great about adapting the exercises to suit my condition at the time and lifestyle. I went to  SOL Montclair to address significant low back pain.  Unlike my previous experiences with other PT providers, they were focused, efficient, and effective.  I was impressed with the entire staff, starting with Gabe at the front desk, but worked mostly with Nick Dueñas.  Nick was very knowledgeable and observant.  In addition to the low back, Nick noticed some balance problems and developed a program that I can use going forward to address both problems. I'm so happy I found SOL in Montclair. I worked with Nick, and he was just a lifesaver. He really listened to my issues, made very thoughtful suggestions for exercises, and was able to pivot immediately if something wasn't working for me. His clear instructions were easy to follow at home, and the program was effective and doable. He was also really encouraging and fun to work with! This is the BEST physical therapy clinic I have ever been to! I came in for a calve strain. I could not walk normally going into my first appointment. It was a combination of a mental and physical block. Initially I worked with JP and Ava. They gave me a variety of exercises to regain my confidence, and increase my mobility. They listened to my concerns and progress, and added to my arsenal of exercises over the next several weeks. After I got back my mobility, they added strength exercises. I also worked with Whitney due to scheduling, and she did a great job picking up where they left off. Over a 5 week period, I am back to fully using my leg with no issues. My ortho said it would take 1-2 years for a full recovery.  In a few months I made significant progress on my range of motion and the pain is almost gone.  I credit James and Raquel for my success.  They push me just past my comfort zone, then in a week or two it becomes easy and then they push me to the next level.  It takes real talent to know how to hit that perfect level of hard, but not too hard.  In the front office, Gabe is super helpful. OMG I was so depressed after I hurt my back so bad it was painful to do practically anything. Trail running, surfing, and soccer seemed like a pipe dream especially my surf trip that was coming up in a couple of months. Then comes James and Raquel, the dream team! After a couple of weeks I’m already noticing significant improvement. Don’t get me wrong, you gotta be super motivated to be stretching for 30 min daily but James and Raquel positive, can-do attitude helps a ton. I’m asking all sorts of questions to the point where I worried about being annoying but they don’t mind and I get helpful advice every time! After a couple months I’m feeling good enough for my surf trip. A few months later, I’m running laps around 20 year olds in soccer (I’m pushing 40). And today my pain is so minimal I’m formally discharged! I’m so grateful for all the help I got from the solid team at Sol (Nina and Gabe at the front desk are also amazing). I honestly don’t where I’d be with the professional guidance, emotional support, and optimism from the people at Sol. If you’re hesitating on whether it’s worth it just stop it and give them a call. Such a great team at Sol to get me get to my post injury + surgery activities. I’ve worked primarily with Raquel and James who are both so knowledgeable; they make the hard work fun! I’m so grateful that I found SOL Physical Therapy. I had cervical spine surgery. I was hesitant to start therapy because I thought I could just do the exercises myself. I WAS SO WRONG!  This is a professional and great group of therapist that work harmoniously together to get your joints and muscles working again.  They teach you proper techniques and rational for each exercise. Additionally I had right shoulder pain which limited my range of motion, especially reaching to my back. JP targeted this area and I was able to reach an area on my back I hadn’t been able to reach in years. I feel like I’m visiting a person trainer! All the therapists are experienced, especially JP and Rachel.  Gabe the receptionist is also welcoming and efficient. I would highly recommend this group.

I had worked with two other PT organizations before starting with SOL Montclair. James and Whitney are by far the best therapists I have ever worked with. Recovering from back surgery has been a real challenge, but with James' and Whitney's help, I am back on the way to full function. And because James and Whitney, along with Gabe and Dan, make the sessions so productive (and often almost fun), I look forward to my visits with them. If I could give Montclair SOL 10 stars, I would! The SOL team is absolutely amazing. Over the years, I have rehabbed my knee at multiple Physical Therapy facilities throughout the Bay Area due to ACL surgeries and other injuries. Never have I received such excellent attention, care, and education while mending. My surgeons at UCSF, Stanford, and Kaiser did not explain to me why I kept injuring my knee. SOL therapists educated me on potential future injury, and how to avoid it. Every single therapist I've worked with at SOL is knowledgeable, conscientious, and personable. If I am ever injured in the future, even if my insurance does not take SOL, I would still entrust the Montclair team with my rehabbing care.

The entire crew at sol has been incredible!  I came by in after acl surgery (was referred by dr Lin and dr Isono at Stanford Emeryville )feeling really scared and anxious about PT.  Shaila worked carefully with me and challenged me.  Over time I have seen JP, Dan, and Whitney and they have all been excellent.  Nina, Dan, and Neeve have been there to assist bas well. On my first visit to SOL in Montclair, I was welcomed by gracious and organized Gabe, then had a minute to observe before my appointment. The vibe was low-key but focused -- that is, not gym-bro-y, but everyone definitely working hard. The building was light, clean, and full (but not too full) of people and equipment. I met JP Guzman, and his knowledge and ability were immediately apparent, as was his interest in my own problem. As the weeks have progressed, my confidence in JP has only increased. He pays attention throughout the slate of exercises --  asking questions and calibrating the workout on the fly, even while counting to ten... ; j He's a pro, but also personable and easy to talk to. I would recommend SOL PT in Montclair without reservation. ***Something I was not expecting to find in crowded Montclair was a parking spot -- every time. JP Guzman has helped me recover from hip-replacement surgery and is presently helping me avoid knee-replacement surgery. While challenging my limits, he constantly checks with me ensure that I'm not in pain. An exercise that cause discomfort is quickly replaced with another exercise that works the target muscles and that is within my capabilities. JP Guzman, Jordan Patterson, and James Abellar are amazing!! They’ve taught me how to run again, a tremendous achievement considering my ACL was torn for ten years. For the first time since the age of 15 I can run, which allows me to have fun with my dog, inspired me to get a gym membership, and allows me not to be afraid of my knee popping out of place.
