Honestly I started out just like Humpty Dumpty falling off the wall! Over the duration of working with Kat, Lawrence, Tatum and Lydia all the pieces started to be put back together again. Having patience and showing up for appointments no matter how I was feeling that day really made a difference and understanding the importance of listening to my body after each session. My family and friends are so ever appreciative to the entire staff and will continue to spread the word with our medical doctors and anyone that is in need of physical therapy!Posted on Google![]()

Had major knee surgery after a ski accident and did a few sessions of PT at another location. The other site mainly had me doing squats and stationary bike. It was boring and I decided I could do those things on my own. A year later, knee hasn't healed so I started going to Sol on Piedmont. Ive been for 8 sessions and the treatment is much more specific. Each session I am doing more interesting and challenging exercises to strengthen different muscles. My knee is feeling better. My main PT is Braxton who designs my training and has been great. There are techs who help me follow the plan and make sure my technique is correct. Very happy I returned and totally satisfied with my progress.Posted on Yelp![]()

I rehabbed there for rotator cuff shoulder surgey a couple of years ago and hip replacement surgery in late 2025. I worked the most with Lydia and Braxton and highly recommend both. Both are very professional, communicate well (listening and explaining), and adjusted programs in response to ongoing assessments, my feedback, and my limitations. They worked well with assistants and the assistants were all very good. Lydia pushed me at times to increase flexibility, which I needed. Each rehab was successful and I am back doing the things I love. I left with a good set of maintenance exercises. Many thanks to Lydia, Braxton, and the whole crew.Posted on Yelp![]()

The physical therapists and assistants did a great job in helping me with 2 big problems, a rotator cuff/frozen shoulder and back pain. Kat Mananquil and Lawrence Zhou did a superb job as my primary therapists. They were very attentive and responded to my feedback. Additionally, other therapists and the assistants did a great job as well. I could not have been happier with the experience.Posted on Google![]()

Add me to the list of patients who is frustrated. This location and the Montclair location doesn’t answer their phone or call people back after a voicemail is left. They don’t check their email when you request an appointment. Looks like another reviewer experienced the same thing. I used to come here for my shoulder and they were great. It’s frustrating to have this polarizing experience.Posted on Yelp![]()

Really enjoying their personal training offering - Lucas is great! I've been working with Lucas for just over six months, and it's been a game-changer. My goals were to safely lift weights despite lower back issues, build strength for various athletic activities, and maintain mobility. He helps me with my form, which keeps my back issues in check and has improved my technique. He introduces odd but engaging exercises each session, so training is never boring. His deep knowledge, encouraging style, and genuine commitment make every session effective and enjoyable.Posted on Yelp![]()

This review is about my experience with their personal training program. I'm in my mid-50s with very little athletic experience. After experiencing continuous lower back pain and leg pain issues from working remotely in front of a laptop for over 7 years, I decided to try one of SOL's personal trainers since I had a good experience with their physical therapy program and strength training at home was confusing and didn't feel productive. I signed up for some introductory sessions last Fall to check it out and have continued with them ever since. My initial goal was to strengthen the muscles supporting my lower back so that I can mitigate future lower back pain. Now, my goal has been to maintain and build muscle as much as possible as I age and get stronger overall. Since signing up for personal training and working with Lucas Fraga as my personal trainer twice a month, I have increased my lean mass from 9th percentile to 16th percentile (Jan to April) for my age group per my last 2 Dexa scans. In addition, I have not experienced any lower back pain like I used to and feel the strongest I've ever felt! I still have a ways to go but feel confident that I can reach my goals in the near future with Lucas' help. Although this is my first time working with a personal trainer, Lucas has been very patient in answering all my questions and putting together a personalized strength training program that I can perform consistently and steadily see results. He is very knowledgeable and fun to work with. I recommend Lucas and SOL's personal training program wholeheartedly!Posted on Yelp![]()

I can not speak more highly of Allie, a trainer at SOL. After a major injury and surgery, she has supported putting me back together every step of the way with expert knowledge, kindness, support, and motivation. Each of my sessions with Allie is tailored to my exact needs that week. Allie is able to target whatever physical need or problem I might have and hone in on how to not only recover from injury but also to prevent injury in the future. On top of it all, Allie is a pleasure to be around. There is no individual I can imagine providing the quality physical training I have received from Allie. Thank you!Posted on Yelp![]()

I started coming to SOL for Physical Therapy over a year ago and still do as needed. Recently I added Personal Training with Lucas Fraga. He has been the most inspiring and helpful person in my journey through a long list of injuries. He teaches not just what to do, but how do work safely, how to use pain as a guide rather than a thing to be pushed through, and his deep knowledge of how the body works has allowed me to strengthen muscles in ways I never thought I could.Posted on Yelp![]()

They got in touch with me recently, and I have to say, their communication since then has been absolutely on point--clear, consistent, and impressively fast. They were upfront and apologized for the initial lack of communication, which I appreciated. It's always nice when a team takes accountability and makes the effort to improve. Since then, the experience has been great, and it's clear they're committed to providing solid support and staying connected. Overall, I'm feeling really positive about everything and genuinely looking forward to starting my physical therapy journey with JP. Thanks again, JP!Posted on Yelp![]()

These folks are great. Every single member of the team. I had to have both of my hips replaced, and was concerned about my rehab, being only 40. I didn't want to have a limp, and I also cared about being back in the gym ASAP. The team at SOL understood my goals and my injuries/surgeries and customized a plan for me while both at the center and at home. They were super supportive, kind, and great cheerleaders. Scheduling with them was super easy, and they even worked with me on last minute changes to my schedule. Highly highly recommend.Posted on Yelp![]()

This is my third time getting PT at SOL-Oakland (other two were for plantar fasciitis). I was having hip pain, and in my first evaluation, Jordan quickly diagnosed it was muscular, and I needed to strengthen my gluts. She put together a continuing set of exercises (added and got more difficult as I progressed). She is not only very knowledgeable on the science of the body and exercises, but she is very practical in the way she progressed me to the point of almost no pain. I also worked with Caitlin, who gave me several tips to improve my form and reduce injuries. I was very impressed with everyone I worked with - serious, but pleasant and encouraging. I highly recommend SOL PT for helping with sports injuries.Posted on Google![]()

I can't emphasize how amazing these physical therapists are! I probably wrote before but they help me with so many issues continually. They're so friendly, personable yet professional, knowledgeable, detailed, and understanding. I'm not getting paid to say any of this. .Posted on Google![]()

The SOL PT team is an amazing group of people each team member has their own style but work together as a cohesive unit. Each member is supportive and atentive to rehabilitating the body through a balance of strengthening the body to stabilize injuries, and recovery through message and cupping techniques!Posted on Yelp![]()

I suffered a broken shoulder in assoc. with a seizure. When I was ready, Nicholas and Racquel developed and implemented a treatment program which has taken me from 0° to 150°range of motion in 9 months with no recitivism. I recommend them without reservation. And Gabe has made the whole thing work. His scheduling magic brings order out of the chaos of real lifePosted on Yelp![]()

I was amazed at how quickly I felt better after seeing Dan at SOL Physical Therapy. I had been dealing with significant pain in my knee after running for almost a year and stretching wasn't helping. I was starting to fear that it was a more significant tear or something that was going to require surgery. Fortunately, after my initial session we were able to determine that it was most likely not a major injury, and after a few exercises to strength my hips I was already feeling significantly better. After just a few weeks the pain was gone and I was able to work with Dan on a strategy and exercise plan to continue to strengthen and improve the mobility in my hips and to prevent injury moving forward. I can't believe I avoided seeing someone and lived with the pain for a full year! I definitely recommend SOL and would trust them to help diagnose and resolve any future physical therapy issues if needed.Posted on Yelp![]()

I first came to SOL for physical therapy (in the other office upstairs), which was a great experience. As I got back into being active I wanted some guidance to help me avoid injuries. I started training downstairs in the Performance Training office with Allie a couple years ago and am so glad that I did. Allie has tailored our training sessions and my home workouts to whatever I've needed, which has varied a lot since I started working with her. I've dealt with medical conditions and new injuries that have required us to make adjustments, and she has never had a problem coming up with ways to continue working toward my goals. She is perceptive, thoughtful, and always a pleasure to work with. I'm now back to running and playing soccer, and even though I'm several years older than when I last did those things regularly, I feel more confident in my ability to avoid major injuries and recover from the inevitable small ones thanks to the work I've been doing with Allie. The other trainers and staff seem great as well, and everyone here seems to have good attitudes and senses of humor. I think they all have different specialties and I would gladly work with any of them, though Allie is the best. It's a great place to train, the atmosphere is fun and they will push you and guide you in all the right ways.Posted on Google![]()

I did PT at Sol in Berkeley this year for about seven months. I had a great experience with them. Every employee is friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. I worked with three physical therapists and all were great. (And Monica is a frickin' miracle worker!) I didn't go through insurance and paid privately instead, so billing was easy and their price for private pay is reasonable. There are a few free parking spaces next door. I highly recommend Sol.Posted on Yelp![]()

I had a shoulder tear, bursitis, walk with a limp because my hip hurt so bad. Katrina, PT, (Kat) is so knowledgeable that I have improved alot. David helps with the exercises and is just as committed as Kat to ensuring their clients' mobility, strength, and endurance and health improves. I enjoy going to Physical Therapy because I know they have my best interest in their program.Posted on Google![]()

My husband, Lief Sorbye, had great results at SOL Performance Training Center! In his words: "Braxton, Sherman, and crew are highly skilled, and they guided me through exercises that greatly improved my conditions (brought on by an accident last Fall.) Now, after 4 months of PT I'm happy to say I have my strength and mobility back, and I'm pain-free. All done in a friendly, fun, and professional environment!"Posted on Yelp![]()

It can take some time to get your first appointment but it's definitely worth it. These folks are truly experts, I learned a ton about my body in the first session alone. I worked with Johnathan. He was great at explaining what was going on and making the pt exercises simple and short enough that I didn't feel overwhelmed. I saw folks of all shapes, sizes, ages, genders, and colors. Everyone seemed happy to be getting helped there too. Be sure to double check insurance coverage though, the cost can really add up. While I hope I won't need to return for any more sports injuries, I would love to come here more often!Posted on Google![]()

I’ve been coming to SOL PT for over a year. I’ve worked with Braxton mostly and Attiya (I’m so sorry if I spelled yer name wrong) on the occasions that Braxton didn’t have availability. They both have gone out of their way to make room for me in their schedules sometimes shifting their schedules on the fly to make sure I had full hour long appointments whenever possible. The education and expertise these providers have is exceptional and I’m grateful everyday for their dedication to me and my wonky body.Posted on Yelp![]()

SOL has provided excellent care to my 97 year old mother. She suffers from several back issues and Nick has been both caringly assertive in getting her to move more and develop better strength and balance, as well as being incredibly kind and solicitous. I understand why his schedule is so full, as he is great at his job and a true people-person. The staff are equally kind and helpful.
