However, personal training is NOT just for athletes. In fact, you don’t have to have any athletic ability whatsoever to benefit from a personal trainer.

What to expect during a personal training session

Each personal training session is tailored specifically to fit your goals and current athletic abilities. However, there are a few main goals we aim to train during each session, including:

  • Explosive movement
  • Quick position changes
  • Endurance

Our personal training sessions begin with a light cardio warm up to get your blood flowing and prepare your body ready for what is to come. We then do a preliminary stretch to help loosen your muscles before we dive right in to the core of the training session. Each session varies depending on where the individual is in his/her custom training plan. Often, a personal training session will include a combination of endurance training (which also includes speed and agility training) and muscle-strengthening exercises. In many cases, we use a HIIT (high-intensity interval training) approach to promote quick position changes and explosive movements throughout the session. 

We will also train you on how to move your body during each of these sessions in order to maximize your abilities and help reduce the risk of future injury.
